Yes. The Sanitas Residents option with no waiting periods is designed to make your residence visa application easier. It is accepted by consulates and Extranjería offices throughout Spain, and the certificate is issued in less than 24 hours.
The option with waiting periods is for residents from the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, and applies waiting periods to some services (major surgery, childbirth, complex therapies). The option with no waiting periods is for residents from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland who need the insurance to apply for their residence visa, with no waiting periods.
You can sign up from 0 to 75 years old. There is no maximum age to stay insured once the policy has been taken out. For children under 2, another insured person over 2 must be on the policy.
Yes. If, when switching to Sanitas, you had been on a health policy with another company in Spain for at least 1 year, you can reduce or even remove the waiting periods on your new policy, except those relating to childbirth. You just need to provide the particular conditions and the last payment receipt of your previous policy.
Blua is Sanitas' digital health service: video consultations with specialists, 24 h emergencies, digital physio, mental wellbeing programmes, child health, nutrition, pregnancy and personal training. It includes an AI health check from your phone to detect hearing, dermatology, heart health, diabetes and hypertension problems.
The price depends on the age of the insured person, the option chosen (with or without waiting periods) and the location.
